...and the big guy with the gong in the Rank Organization movie logo is a dub too.
Matty, he's Ken Richmond, used to be an elder in London Fulham congregation. I think I heard he died a few years ago. (From memory, he got the job at Rank after winning an Olympic gold medal for wrestling.)
That was Hank Marvin, from Cliff Richard's band "The Shadows".
did anyone mention Hank Marvin, lead guitarist for the Shadows?
Ross, dh, I was told that Cliff Richard and all the Shadows were brought up as JWs (three of them were in the same congregation) and drifted as their music took off. Cliff's mother is still an active JW.
He was not keen to talk about anything except the dubs though.
Minsky, I think I heard he's no longer an elder.
When anyone asked him for his autograph while out in field service, he'd sign the front cover of a Watchtowr magazine...

Something our Circuit Overseer said.
by PaNiCAtTaCk inhe said that if we take time to argue or disagree with someone at the door then our guardian angel is already waiting at the next door with out us.
basically what this does is train us to flee from anything that may conflict with what we are trying to teach or anything that we may believe.
to stay at the door and .

Perhaps the CO was thinking of this, from [ it-1 pp. 107-108 Angel]:
Thereafter, God?s spirit messengers continued ministering to his servants on earth, even as Jesus promised: "Do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that their angels in heaven always behold the face of my Father." (Mt 18:10) "Are they not all spirits for public service, sent forth to minister for those who are going to inherit salvation?" (Heb 1:14) No longer do these mighty angelic ones appear visibly in behalf of Jehovah?s servants on earth, as when they delivered the apostles from prison; nevertheless, God?s servants are assured of the ever-present, invisible protecting armies, as real as those that surrounded the prophet Elisha and his servant. "He will give his own angels a command concerning you, to guard you in all your ways." Yes, "the angel of Jehovah is camping all around those fearing him, and he rescues them."?Ps 91:11; 34:7; Ac 5:19; 2Ki 6:15-17.

Brits. Will you vote in next month's General Election?
by nicolaou inas everyone had guessed, the election has been set for may 5th.
personally, this is my first opportunity 'post wt mind-control' to vote for our next government.
i don't suppose that i will - 40 years of 'neutrality' and non-involvement have rather flattened my desire to take part in political change.. how about you?

Good question, Nicolaou.
Yup, I'll be another 'virgin voter.' But who to vote for?
- Labour: no way, after Blair's lies over Iraq.
- Tory: there's still 'something of the night' in Howard.
- Nats: Maybe some time in the future.
- Greens: But I like my car...
- LibDems: Might as well give them a chance. They've done pretty well at Holyrood...
So that's decided, then, unless any other party pledges to slash the duty on whisky...

One Saturday morning when I was about 7 or 8, my father told me to go into an apartment block to offer the magazines.
After about half-an-hour, I had a desperate need to pee, but was too embarassed to ask any householders if I could use their toileets. Not knowing what to do, I carried on.
While talking to a lady at the next door, I couldn't hold it in any longer. I felt a sudden release, followed by a warm trickle down my inside leg. A little puddle spread around my left shoe.
Absolutely mortified, I fled down the stiars, sobbing with shame. I hid by the rubbish bins and drained my soggy shoe into a bin then wrung out my sock. At least my trousers were relatively dry.
I put my sock and shoe back on and walked around for ages till they dried out a bit. I don't think I ever told my parents.
I'd forgotten all about it until I read this thread. I guess I'd blocked it out!

you should send it to Ray... in case there ever might be a second edition (who knows), it might be of use....
I mentioned it to him a year or so ago, but he wasn't bothered.
Maybe he'd already done one, he didn't say, and we just carried on discussing other things...

If anyone's interested, I can either email it to you (pm me with your address), or if someone has some web space to spare, I'll copy it over and anyone can download it.
